A Florida woman is behind bars after police said she threatened to kill a supermarket clerk with a nail clipper.

Katricia Humphrey, 47, was arrested on Tuesday after she allegedly tried to rob a Sedano's supermarket in Sweetwater. During the alleged robbery, police said, Humphrey "armed herself with a nail clipper" and told the 70-year-old store clerk, "You will die." According to a criminal complaint reviewed by Law&Crime, the alleged altercation started when Humphrey tried to get a box of cigarettes that she said she would pay for later.

Police said that the store clerk turned down Humphrey's request, which caused her to become "irate," and the clerk asked her to leave the store. Humphrey refused, then allegedly "armed herself with a nail clipper" and motioned "as if she was going to stab him." She eventually made her way behind the counter and allegedly swiped a carton of cigarettes while she continued to threaten the clerk.

The clerk told police that he feared for his safety, but after Humphrey allegedly "charged" at him wielding the nail clipper, he was able to take back the cigarettes. At one point during the alleged altercation, Humphrey told the clerk, "You will die."

Police arrived at the Sedano's after other shoppers surrounded Humphrey to prevent her from leaving the store. She was promptly arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a person older than 65, armed robbery, and petit theft.

Humphrey is currently in custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where she is being held on $15,001 bond.
