As I’ve said before, I say again today, if there is a move to deport immigrants, I say then start with me. pic.twitter.com/elejUuKS9J

President Donald Trump is pushing his efforts for tougher immigration control, from building a wall on the Mexican border, to hiring more border patrol officers, to deporting undocumented immigrants. Democrats have railed against this focus on immigrants, with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo addressing it in a speech that he tweeted on Wednesday.
“If there is a move to deport immigrants, I say then start with me,” Cuomo said, explaining that he is the grandson of an immigrant who came to this country “only for the promise of America.” Cuomo asked who will be safe and who will be left if this country questions and deports immigrants, “because we are all immigrants.”
