A New York man has been arrested and charged with murder after police said he shot his wife and dumped her body miles away.

Chloe Henry, 25, was last seen with her 33-year-old husband Keith Henry before she was reported missing on Sunday, New York State Police said in a press release. According to state troopers, the couple was seen together in Plattsburgh. A member of Chloe Henry's family said in a post on Facebook that they had not heard from her in 36 hours, which was "[h]ighly unusual for her."

Two days later, Chloe Henry's body was found on Ridge Road in Chazy, New York, near the Lake Alice Wildlife Management Area.

An autopsy conducted at Glens Falls Hospital by Forensic Pathologist Dr. Michael Sikirica confirmed that Chloe Henry died of gunshot wounds to the head and back. The manner of death was listed as homicide.

According to New York State Police, Keith Henry allegedly shot Chloe Henry while they were in his car. The alleged shooting took place in Peru, New York, 26 miles away from where her body was found on the side of Ridge Road in Chazy. Police did not provide details about a possible motive for the alleged killing.

Keith Henry was arrested by New York State Police and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was booked into the Clinton County Jail, where he is being held without bond. He appeared in Peru Town Court on Tuesday for his arraignment.
