A New York woman has been arrested after police said she threw lit matches at a man.

Rose Yee, 68, was charged with menacing after police responded to a "domestic disturbance" at her home in Valley Stream, New York, on Monday at 8:40 p.m. According to the Nassau County Police Department, Yee was having a verbal altercation with a 68-year-old man who already had an order of protection against her. The man, who was not injured, told police that Yee allegedly threw lit matches at him as the argument escalated and Yee "became irate."

Police said that after throwing the lit matches at the man, Yee threatened to "burn the house down," then set an item of clothing on fire and threw it in front of the house. Police made no mention of fire damage to the home or property. After being arrested without incident, Yee was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Yee was arrested and charged with two counts of menacing and three counts of criminal contempt. Online court records showed that Yee was previously arrested on May 27 and July 3, both times for criminal contempt. Police did not clarify Yee's relationship with the 68-year-old man.
