A worker at a Chipotle restaurant in Florida who was told to "clock out" by his manager threatened to kill his boss and threw a knife and glass bottles at him, according to authorities.
Levar Walker, 20, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon — a felony — as well as misdemeanor counts of battery, assault, and criminal mischief, according to Miami-Dade County court records reviewed by Law&Crime. He is currently in the custody of Miami-Dade Corrections and Rehabilitation.
On Thursday, Walker was working at the Chipotle restaurant located at 6290 South Dixie Highway in South Miami. The defendant was working with his manager, who told him to "clock out," though it is unclear if this was for any specific reason.
According to the manager cited in an arrest report, Walker "became angry and began throwing food and kitchen items onto the floor." Walker then allegedly "grabbed a knife and threw it" at the manager "but missed," police said.
Sometime later, Walker "grabbed a glass bottle in the kitchen" and threw it at the manager, the court document goes on. The bottle struck the grill and left a dent.
The defendant apparently was not finished.
Walker reportedly threw another glass bottle at his boss, this time hitting him in the left shoulder. A witness said she saw Walker do this and "threaten to kill" his manager, per the arrest report.
Another witness stated that Walker "said he was going to beat" his manager up. Three glass bottles were thrown in total, and the dent in the kitchen grill cost about $150 to repair.
Authorities did not mention any injuries to the manager or anyone else.
Walker was arrested and booked into jail. His bond was set at $6,400.
He had a first appearance in court on Friday. It is not yet clear when he is due to return.
