A car mechanic is alive but shaken after an assault caught on tape. At least eight men are said to have attacked him randomly, WABC reports.
“Kind of a nightmare,” the man, whose face and name weren’t reported, told the outlet. “Right now I don’t know who these people are. I wish I had answers.”
He claimed the men approached him in front of his repair shop in Ridgewood, Queens. The first attacker, an individual in a blue top and brown pants, strikes the mechanic as he was sliding a jack under a car. As seen in the footage obtained by the outlet, these suspects approached from multiple directions, and took turns punching and kicking him.
They said no words, the mechanic claimed. They never even went through his pockets–he had $700 on him at the time. He said he had no idea why any of this happened. All this 48-year-old knows he is got a concussion out of it, now sees double, and suffers from headaches.
“I am very frustrated with the police,” he claimed, saying that cops never followed up with him, or even reviewed the tape.
The NYPD told the outlet this investigation remains ongoing.
