(1) Does the state require everyone to report child abuse, including sex abuse?  No, but the list of mandatory reporters is far more extensive than in many other states.

(2) Does the law require coaches to report child abuse? Yes. Coaches at both the K-12 and the college level are explicitly required to report.

(3) Does the law require college staff to report child abuse? Yes. The law covers college employees “whose duties bring [them] into contact with children on a regular basis.

(4) Does the law allow jail time for those who fail to properly report abuse? Yes; the penalty is up to a year in jail and up to a $5,000 fine.
