A 24-year-old Tennessee woman is accused of shooting her ex-boyfriend in both legs, allegedly pulling a handgun from her bra and firing at the victim outside a Memphis police precinct after he struck her in the back of the head and knocked off her glasses.

Brianna Moore was taken into custody and charged with one count each of aggravated assault, domestic assault with bodily harm, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon in connection with the Sept. 6 shooting outside the Austin Peay police precinct, court records show.

According to a probable cause affidavit, officers with the Memphis Police Department were inside the precinct just before 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 6, when they heard multiple gunshots outside. A witness then entered the station and reported that a man had been shot.

The witness told police the violence began when a silver Honda pulled up near a black Nissan.

"[The witness] advised a female wearing a flowery dress got out of the silver Honda from the passenger side, walked up to the black Nissan and began shooting the male," the affidavit states. "[The witness] advised the female got back into a silver Honda and left the scene."

After the shooting, the victim got in his own car and managed to drive away, the witness said. He was located at nearby Methodist North Hospital "suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to both legs."

The victim told investigators that he had gone to the precinct to get his house key from Moore, whom he described as his girlfriend. After getting the key, he got out of his vehicle and "attempted to grab Brianna Moore when she shot him," according to the affidavit.

Moore gave police a different account, telling investigators that the victim was her ex-boyfriend and that they had recently broken up. The pair had arranged to meet so she could return his keys.

A passenger in Moore's vehicle told police that Moore shot the victim after he assaulted her.

"[The passenger] advised Brianna Moore walked up to a black vehicle to give her ex-boyfriend a key," the affidavit states. "[The passenger] advised the male struck Brianna Moore in the back of the head knocking her glasses off and was going towards Brianna Moore again when Brianna Moore pulled a black handgun from her bra and shot the male several times."

Police stopped the silver Honda in the precinct parking lot and detained Moore. Officers then executed a search warrant and recovered a black Taurus G3C 9 mm from the front seat of the Honda, the affidavit states.

The shooting also sent a bullet through the front window of the precinct, "where multiple officers were during the shooting." Investigators recovered a bullet fragment and four spent 9 mm casings at the scene, according to the affidavit.

Moore allegedly waived her rights and admitted to shooting her ex, but noted she only did so after he assaulted her.

Officers transported her to jail following the interview while her ex remained in critical condition. She remained in detention on $125,000 bond, records show. It was not immediately clear when she was scheduled to return to court.
