A 69-year-old Florida woman burned a boy's arm with a hot glue gun to teach the boy a "lesson" because he left it on while working on his model airplane project, cops say.

Jeannette Miller stands accused of child abuse without causing great bodily harm.

According to a probable cause arrest affidavit obtained by Law&Crime, the Lake County Sheriff's Office responded to a home in the 3700 block of Scenic Bluff Drive in Eustis for a child abuse investigation.

The Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) received a tip that Miller was teaching the boy a "lesson about not leaving on glue guns by taking his glue gun that he left on and touching it to his right arm," the affidavit said.

Miller told police that it was the second time the victim had left the turned-on glue gun on his bedroom floor.

"She had picked up the glue gun, put the tip against his arm to show it was still hot and then did it to herself," cops wrote. "She stated she was concerned with the glue gun being a fire hazard and stated placing against his arm was a gut reaction since [the boy] sometimes doesn't listen."

The boy spoke with investigators and said he had been making a model airplane and left the glue gun on "knowing he shouldn't have." He said Miller "tapped" his arm with it, leaving behind a small burn in the middle of his right forearm, the affidavit stated. The burn still hurt when investigators were interviewing him.

Miller typically takes away his electronics when he gets in trouble, but she has also hit him, leaving marks, the boy told deputies, according to the affidavit.

The boy and Miller live in the home together, although their exact relationship is redacted from the affidavit.

Cops arrested Miller and took her to the Lake County Jail, where she has since posted a $2,500 bond. Her next court date is set for Nov. 2.
