A Florida man is accused of threatening a couple and trying to "flirt" with the woman while they were trying to order food at McDonald's.
Jeremiah Williams, 29, is facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of misdemeanor battery.
The couple said they were at the kiosk ordering food around 8 p.m. Saturday at a McDonald's in the 200 block of W. Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park. They said they noticed Williams sitting at a table by himself.
The woman "believed that he was trying to flirt or cause a rise out of" the man, though the couple did not know Williams, the affidavit said. They tried to ignore him.
Williams then allegedly got up and tried to get the woman to come to the bathroom with him. When she did not oblige, Williams walked up to the man and brushed up against him in an attempt to "antagonize him," cops wrote.
After his attempts failed, the defendant allegedly said to the woman, "You're going to die and I'm going to shoot your boyfriend," before he walked outside and pulled a gun from a backpack, according to the victims.
The victims said they feared for their lives, so they called 911 and Williams ran away. Cops later arrested him, although he reportedly did not have a gun at that time.
In a statement he gave after receiving his Miranda rights, Williams allegedly claimed that the victims started the altercation. He was taken to the Broward County Jail, where he remained as of Tuesday afternoon on a $5,500 bond.
His next court date was not listed.
