A Texas daycare owner is accused of holding down two toddlers and forcing one to bite the other on the arm while they were out on the playground.
Jennifer Ann Garrett, 46, is charged with injury to a child, court records say.
Local CBS affiliate KWTX reported a probable cause arrest affidavit said the incident occurred at Gracious Beginnings Day Care in Hubbard, which is about 30 miles northeast of Waco.
Cops viewed video evidence that showed on Aug. 26, Garrett "deliberately" placed her hand on the back of a 2-year-old girl's head and pushed it down as she raised the other toddler girl's arm, the affidavit stated. The defendant allegedly forced the girl to bite the toddler on the arm between the wrist and her elbow.
"Garrett used her left hand to physically restrain Jane Doe #1's right arm preventing Jane Doe #1 from being able to move her arm away from the pain from being bitten by Jane Doe #2," cops reportedly wrote.
The girl who bit the toddler "took both of her hands up to the side of her own head as if she was upset," the affidavit stated, per KWTX.
Garrett "forcefully kept control" over the other girl's arm and "briskly walked her to the other side of the playground," according to cops.
It's unclear whether the bite broke skin. The report also did not state how authorities learned of the alleged assault or what led up to it.
The Department of Family and Protective Services is reportedly also investigating the incident.
Cops arrested Garrett last week and took her to the Hill County Jail, where she has since posted bond. Her next court date is not listed.
She faces between two and 10 years behind bars if convicted of the third-degree felony.
Gracious Beginnings promises to provide "loving care while you're not there," according to its Facebook page. Garrett could not immediately be reached for comment.
