Parents Stop Suspected Sex Predator, But They Were the Ones Detained (VIDEO)

Alarming video that streamed on Facebook Live last Thursday in Port Alberni, a city in Vancouver Island, British Columbia, showed two parents restraining a suspected sex predator they said came to their house to “meet my 13-year-old f–king daughter to f–k her.”

Currently, things are actually looking worse for the parents than the 28-year-old unidentified man.

CTV News reported that the parents, a mom and stepfather, who restrained the man with zip ties, were the ones detained because they are under investigation for assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.

Port Alberni Royal Canadian Mounted Police have said publicly that the parents previously reported this man to the police, that authorities have been investigating him since March, and that the parents were told “not to take matters into their own hands.”

Police also said the “vigilante actions” were “illegal” and “put people in danger.”

“The police had directed her not to take matters into her own hands, that we were investigating it…She was directed not to make the meet happen,” Cpl. Amelia Hayden said in a statement. “Vigilante actions like these are not only illegal and put people in danger, but they also have the potential to compromise the original investigation. It hasn’t resolved one issue—it’s caused another and put people in danger, everybody.”

It seems that the parents were not pleased with what they saw as a snail-paced response to a credible and imminent threat against their daughter.

The stepfather expressed his disgust with the system and said his wife has “been asking for help from the police for the last six weeks for this and not really anything’s happened.”

“I didn’t know what to do yesterday,” he said. He said the intent was to warn everyone who knows him so they can protect their kids.

When the police arrived, they detained the parents, set the man free, and took him to the hospital. At the time of this writing, he had not been charged.

In original video, the mother identifies the man by name and said he wanted to be her daughter’s “first.” She said she called the police earlier in the day and asked them to be there for this “meet.” She said they said no.

“Why wouldn’t the police come and catch this predator who just came to my f—ing house,” she said, and the desperation in her voice was noticeable.

She said the man is her “ex-best friend’s little brother,” that he’s known her daughter since she was three, and knows that she was molested by her grandfather.
