The murder trial of Justin Ross Harris, who is accused of intentionally leaving his 22-month-old son, Cooper, in a hot car to die, continues.
Harris is facing eight charges, including malice murder, felony murder and child cruelty. He is also facing charges for allegedly sexting underage girls on the day his son was left to die in the parking lot of the Home Depot Corporate Headquarters in Cobb County, Georgia. Harris claims that he is innocent and this was all a tragic accident.
On Friday, the prosecution rested their case after weeks of testimony. Click here for an analysis of how they did. The conclusion of their case included showing the jury a 3D rendered representation of the inside of Harris’ car, and the car seat that Cooper was in. This gave an approximation of where Cooper was in the car, in relation to Harris, so that jurors could get an idea of whether the child would have been in Harris’ line of sight.
Testimony will continue Monday morning at 8:30 ET. The defense began presenting their case on Friday afternoon, but Monday will be their first day of presenting witnesses before the court.
