The jury has been deliberating since last Monday in the murder trial of Justin Ross Harris, who is accused of intentionally leaving his 22-month-old son, Cooper, in a hot car to die.
Harris is facing eight charges, including malice murder, felony murder and child cruelty. He is also facing charges for allegedly sexting underage girls on the day his son was left to die in the parking lot of the Home Depot Corporate Headquarters in Cobb County, Georgia. Harris claims that he is innocent and this was all a tragic accident. To read more about closing arguments, click here.
Last, the jury reviewed videos of Harris’ interrogation by police the day of Cooper’s death, his conversation with his then-wife Leanna Taylor at the police station, and when he returned to his car in the middle of the day. The videos had previously been shown to the court while the prosecution presented their case.
When the jury announces their decision, you will be able to watch it live in the video above or on the LawNewz Facebook page. LawNewz will also be providing a recap and analysis of the trial after the jury hands down their verdict.
