A 76-year-old woman in Georgia is accused of killing her 75-year-old ex-husband and his 40-year-old girlfriend, fatally shooting the couple because she was "not accepting" of their relationship, law enforcement officials say.

Grace Hanson Edge was taken into custody Monday and charged with two counts each of malice murder and felony murder, along with three counts of aggravated assault in the slayings of Wallace Truman Edge and Pamela Cook, authorities announced.

One of the assault charges stems from Grace Edge allegedly shooting and injuring Pamela Cook's 55-year-old mother, Diane Cook.

According to a press release from the Toombs County Sheriff's Office, deputies at about 2:19 p.m. on Oct. 19 responded to a report of a shooting at a residence in the 100 block of McNatt Falls Road.

First responders entered the home and found Wallace Edge and Pamela Cook dead from gunshot wounds, the sheriff's office said. Diane Cook was also inside, wounded by a gunshot authorities described as non-life-threatening.

"Wallace [Edge's] former spouse, Grace Edge, immediately became a person of strong interest," the release states. "Shortly thereafter, Grace was arrested."

Sheriff Jordan Kight told Savannah, Georgia-based CBS affiliate WTOC that Grace Edge barged into the home and just started firing at the victims. Diane Cook called 911 after seeing her daughter and Wallace Edge shot, according to Kight. Grace Edge then allegedly turned the gun on Diane Cook, striking her in the arm.

In a 911 call obtained by the station, a frantic Diane Cook can be heard telling the dispatcher what she had witnessed.

"She just come in and start shooting," Diane Cook says on the recording.

"When she came in, did she come in shooting or did she come in and start arguing?" the dispatcher asks.

"No she come in just shooting," Diane Cook replies.

Kight said investigators believe Grace Edge drove directly from the home to the sheriff's office and turned herself in. The 911 call indicated that five rounds were fired, with four hitting Wallace Edge and Pamela Cook, and one hitting Diane Cook, WTOC reported.

Although Grace and Wallace Edge finalized their divorce more than 10 years ago, the sheriff's office told WTOC it had received reports asserting that the two remained involved in an on-and-off relationship until Wallace Edge began dating Pamela Cook.

"Mr. Edge had started dating Pamela, and it appears that, based on information we received, that Grace was not accepting of the situation," Kight told WTOC.

Kight also told the station that prior to the divorce, deputies had made more than a dozen domestic violence calls to their home.

Grace Edge is being held at the Toombs County Detention Center without bond pending her first appearance.
