A man in Pennsylvania kidnapped a woman and her family and held them captive for several days before forcing her to contact another lover so he could run them over, authorities allege.
Tylar Greenough faces charges including two counts each of aggravated assault and kidnapping to inflict injury or terror, as well as burglary, two counts of unlawful restraint, and three counts of terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another. According to court records reviewed by Law&Crime, he's being held in the Fayette County Jail without bail.
The defendant's case was filed on Monday. Authorities have said that the incident took place several days prior, but did not immediately respond to Law&Crime's request to clarify the exact date of the alleged kidnapping.
A woman was at her home, along with her mother and a child she shared with Greenough, on Lincoln Street in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. The city is located in the southwestern part of the state, about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh.
The woman had an active "Protection from Abuse Order" against Greenough, according to the Fayette County District Attorney's Office, but the defendant still allegedly entered the victim's home "by climbing through a second story window."
"He held the victim, her child, and her mother against their will," threatening them with a gun, the DA's office said. Authorities claim Greenough attacked the women "over the course of several days between that home and a nearby hotel."
At one point, the defendant put one of the women in the trunk of a vehicle and forced her to arrange a meetup with a new romantic partner, according to a criminal complaint obtained by regional ABC affiliate WTAE. Greenough apparently then tried to run over the other partner with the vehicle.
The DA's office said "[b]oth victims sustained significant bruising and injuries related to the assaults," ostensibly referring to the two women. Officers with the Uniontown Police Department arrested Greenough on Tuesday "after he re-entered" the home on Lincoln Street.
He was apparently in possession of a gun — which he was not allowed to possess as he is a convicted felon — and the woman whose home it was wasn't there.
Court records show Greenough had a preliminary arraignment on Tuesday and is scheduled to be back in court for a preliminary hearing on Sept. 10.
He has also been charged with contempt for violation of an order or agreement. In that case, he is due in court on Sept. 14.
