A 41-year-old Ohio woman is accused of killing her boyfriend after she allegedly told a 911 dispatcher she "shot him through the head" and claimed he had threatened her all night.
Ashley Quinn Morgan was charged with two counts of murder, one count of voluntary manslaughter and one count of felonious assault in the death of Sean Thomas Reagan, 41, court records show.
Officers with the Beavercreek Police Department responded to a home in the 100 block of South Alpha Bellbrook Road about 9:20 a.m. on Oct. 24 for a reported shooting.
Morgan called 911 and immediately said she had shot Reagan because she feared him, the Dayton Daily News reported.
"I need help. I need help now," she reportedly said. "I just shot my significant other. He's been threatening me all night."
She described Reagan as "deranged" and said he had refused to leave, threatened to kill her and himself, broken items throughout the house and had her cellphone in his hands, the newspaper reported.
"He was threatening suicide; he was threatening to take us both out," Morgan told the dispatcher, according to Dayton-based CBS affiliate WHIO.
Morgan reportedly said they both had firearms. His gun was on the floor next to him, and hers was beneath a blanket in the living room.
The couple's two children, ages 3 and 5, were reportedly inside the residence when the shot was fired, but neither witnessed the shooting. Morgan nevertheless expressed concern about what they might see.
"I'm scared to death," she reportedly said. "I don't want my kids coming down."
Both children were removed from the home and placed in the custody of a family member, police said.
Officers found Reagan fatally wounded, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Dayton ABC affiliate WKEF reported.
Morgan was booked into the Greene County Jail later that morning and is being held on $1 million bond, according to the Dayton Daily News. WKEF and WHIO reported that her bond was set at $1.5 million.
It was not immediately clear when Morgan was scheduled to make her next court appearance.
