A man was stocking shelves at a Tennessee Sam's Club when suddenly a shot from a nearby lounge blasted through a wall and killed him.
Paris Carlock, 55, is dead, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department announced. Investigators are still searching for the person who fired the bullet that killed him.
On Sunday at about 4 a.m., Carlock was in the chip aisle of the Sam's Club on Antioch Pike in Nashville, Tennessee. He was a Frito-Lay employee "conducting a product inventory," police said.
As Carlock was doing his "work in the middle of the store," a bullet "went through a metal wall" of the Sam's Club and "struck him in the head."
Sam's Club employees rushed to help him, and he was brought to a local hospital for treatment. He was later pronounced dead.
Investigators said that "gunfire on Antioch Pike around the time the victim was hit is connected to an argument that began inside Lavo Lounge just down the street from Sam's." People had reportedly been "removed" from the lounge by security, yet the argument "continued outside."
"Shots were heard as multiple vehicles were leaving," police continued, saying detectives have been pursuing leads.

Carlock's daughter, Kayla Carlock, told local Fox affiliate WZTV that her father was a "very humble man" who kept to himself and "meant the world to everyone."
She described him as her "best friend" and said she was in the area so he could meet his 6-week-old grandson.
Sam's Club said in a statement to the TV station that it is "heartbroken by this incident, and our thoughts are with those impacted. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement as they investigate."
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of one of our colleagues," PepsiCo, Frito-Lay's parent company, said in a statement. "Our sincere condolences are with their family members and loved ones. We have been working closely with law enforcement and local officials regarding the matter."
