A woman has learned her fate for killing her roommate in Oklahoma, dismembering the victim's body and stuffing the remains inside a freezer in the woods.
Kore Bommeli Adams, 64, has pleaded no contest to charges of first-degree manslaughter in the death of 53-year-old Talina Galloway, as well as desecration of a human corpse and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction, according to Wagoner County court records reviewed by Law&Crime.
The defendant was ordered to serve 35 years in prison in Wisconsin, as that is where she is already serving time in another case, regional Fox affiliate KOKI reported.
On April 17, 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic dominated news headlines, Adams reported that her roommate, Galloway, was missing. Adams told law enforcement that Galloway had said that she had the coronavirus and was going to "her favorite lake to be alone," according to the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office.
The suspect also reportedly told authorities Galloway had been tested for COVID-19 and been told to quarantine. Wagoner County investigators, however, searched around and learned Galloway "was never screened at any hospital for COVID-19 and there was no contact with her doctor."
On June 8, 2020, about 150 miles away in a forest around Mena, Arkansas, someone saw a pickup towing a small, enclosed trailer. This witness "was suspicious of the activity" and documented that "there was foul odor coming from the trailer" and "a foul-smelling thick liquid pooled in the floor."
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office said the witness contacted the Polk County Sheriff's Office in Arkansas, but the trailer was not investigated further. Then, Jan. 14, 2021, rolled around.
On that day, "the same witness was walking in the woods and came upon a white box type freezer with the lid taped shut," the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office said. Once again, a "foul smell" emanated, and when the witness gave a tag number of the vehicle, authorities realized it was registered to Galloway.
Deputies responded and "discovered what appeared to be dismembered human remains inside the freezer." The Arkansas State Medical Examiner identified the human remains as Galloway's, and the manner of death was determined to be a homicide.
The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office spoke with Adams, and the agency said in August 2021 that the woman "exhibited suspicious behavior, gave inconsistent statements, and later was proven to be deceptive in her reporting of the circumstances surrounding the disappearance."
"Investigators soon realized that Kore Bommeli knew much more than she was sharing with investigators," the Oklahoma deputies added. Adams "subsequently broke off communications with investigators, and refused to cooperate."
Authorities searched for Adams and learned that she was in the area of Dane County, Wisconsin. Deputies there arrested her and charged her with first-degree murder.
On June 27, 2025, Adams was found guilty of two counts of attempted first-degree intentional homicide after "trying to kill her neighbors with poison in April 2014," per the Wagoner County Sheriff's Office. "Prosecutors said Kore Bommeli Adams put ricin around her neighbors' home in the spring of 2014 while they were on vacation."
Adams is also serving 35 years in Wisconsin in that case, Tulsa NBC affiliate KJRH reported. Her new sentence in Oklahoma is due to be served at the same time.
