A Wisconsin man pinned a woman to her car after she tried to fight him off with pepper spray, police say.
Vang Yang, 33, assaulted the 63-year-old victim during what police in Madison describe as a "road rage incident" on the north side of the city on Tuesday morning.
The mid-morning confrontation occurred around 9:50 a.m. in the area of North Sherman Avenue and Northport Drive, according to police.
"The man got upset after the woman honked her horn," police said in a statement. "The man got out of his vehicle and began screaming at the woman when they were stopped at a nearby traffic light."
The woman, who was not immediately publicly identified, used pepper spray to get the man to leave, police said.
But according to authorities, Yang persisted in the confrontation.
"As she shifted her body to drive away, the man pinned her arm in the car door," police said. "The man then continued to push onto the door as the woman's arm remained trapped."
The woman was able to escape and drive away, and called police from her workplace, the statement said. Yang remained at the scene.
Dane County court records show that Yang has been charged with felony battery to an elderly person or at-risk adult and misdemeanor disorderly conduct. He was released from the Dane County Jail on Thursday after pleading not guilty and has a court appearance scheduled for Aug. 26.
