A Georgia woman who worked as a DoorDash driver was reportedly found dismembered in a plastic tub.
Kingston Bradley, 18, was arrested on Thursday and charged with concealing a death. According to reporting by local independent news outlet WANF, Bradley was allegedly seen by a witness dragging a plastic tub around the Park Valley Apartments in Smyrna, Georgia, where he is a resident, on Wednesday. After being spotted by the witness, Bradley reportedly dropped the tub and ran away.
Local NBC affiliate WXIA reported that according to an arrest warrant they obtained, the witness was Michelle Weaver, the aunt of 26-year-old Shanteria "Tia" Mosely, a woman who left for work as a DoorDash driver Wednesday morning and stopped responding to messages from her family. In an interview with WXIA, Weaver said Mosely's family started looking for her themselves and their search ended up at the Park Valley Apartments.
Weaver told WXIA that Mosely's family tracked the woman's phone to find her. First, they found her car at a location indicated by her phone. The family knocked on doors at the apartment complex and searched a wooded area nearby. In the midst of their search, Weaver said, they called the police, and an officer responded. Weaver said they brought the officer to the location where Mosely's phone last pinged. The officer then "knocked on like three guys' doors" and apparently left.
After the officer left, the family noticed one of the apartment residents, later identified as Bradley, looking out one of the windows. The family knocked on that apartment's door and spoke to Bradley, who told them he never saw anyone get out of Mosely's car.
Weaver told WXIA they soon saw Bradley again, "throwing a bag, like something with a cloth. It's like a bag kind of cloth, like maybe a laundry bag, and it had, like, a container in it. He kind of threw it and he ran." WXIA reported that in the arrest warrant, police said Weaver told them she saw Bradley carrying a plastic tub around 8:15 p.m.
According to police, there was allegedly a dismembered woman's torso inside the tub. Weaver told WXIA that she and other family members recognized a tattoo on the torso that Mosely had. As of Friday, police have not publicly identified Mosely as the victim.
Police said they searched the apartment where Bradley lived and found evidence of blood, including a saw covered in blood. The apartment allegedly smelled strongly of bleach, and a bucket, a mop and a bottle of carpet cleaner were all found inside.
Bradley is currently in custody at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. WANF reported that he is due to appear in court again on Oct. 7.
