A Georgia mother is accused of arming her teenage daughter with a golf club to settle a "verbal altercation," leading to an alleged head-striking frenzy aimed at two girls that left one of them hospitalized with a skull fracture, according to the victim's mom.
Curtisia Heath, 36, is charged with aggravated assault for the Monday incident, which left another teen with injuries requiring treatment at an Atlanta-area hospital, according to a Newnan Police Department press release.
The mother of the victim, who was identified by local television station WANF as 14-year-old Keira Harps, told the outlet that the teen had to get staples put in her head. She said the attack stemmed from Keira being bullied online by Heath's daughters, who ride the bus to school with her.
"On August 31, 2026, at approximately 6:39 p.m., officers with the Newnan Police Department responded to a 911 call for an assault with injuries at Ball Street," the release says. "Officers discovered a verbal altercation between several juveniles which resulted in a physical altercation."
According to police, things "escalated" and Heath allegedly "retrieved a golf club from her apartment and handed it to her 16-year-old daughter." The teen ran toward the 14-year-old victim and struck her on the head with the club before the second juvenile victim was targeted.
Instead of attacking them, the 16-year-old handed the club to her 15-year-old sister and let her strike the second victim.
"The 14-year-old victim was transported … for treatment," the NPD release says. "As of 9:00 a.m. September 1, the victim remains hospitalized in stable condition. The second juvenile victim did not report any injuries."
Police identified and arrested Heath after the attacks. She was booked into the Coweta County Jail on the aggravated assault charge.
"The 15-year-old and 16-year-old suspects were also arrested and transported to a regional youth detention center," the NPD release says. "The 15-year-old was charged with aggravated assault, and the 16-year-old was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery."
Keira's mom, Syrite Harps, told WANF that Heath's daughters "tried to kill my daughter," the station reports.
"That's what went through my mind," Harps said. "Ya'll tried to kill her. She was laid on the ground, she was passed out couldn't get no response from her she wasn't moving I thought she was dead."
Harps said Keira had to stay overnight at the hospital due to her injuries. "She has a skull fracture, neck swelling, and a incision on the top of her head," a GoFundMe created by Harps says.
Keira's older sister, Jasmine Osirio, was the second victim and told WANF that they all tried to talk things out before Heath retrieved the golf club.
"I'm trying to talk to the mother, but she just wouldn't talk to me back, and so after that, it just broke loose," Osirio said. "[Keira] was bleeding. Then she hyperventilated and passed out."
Osirio added, "They also hit me with the golf club as well."
Describing what she hopes happens to Heath and her children, Harps said, "I want justice."
