A Tennessee McDonald's worker allegedly pulled a knife on a customer and waved the blade at her after telling the woman to "go and die, fat b—," according to police.
Cedric Johnson, 38, is facing a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the Sept. 23 confrontation at a McDonald's on Vantage Way Court in Nashville, according to an affidavit obtained by local NBC affiliate WSMV.
The incident unfolded shortly before midnight when an argument that began in the restaurant's drive-thru spilled inside, according to police.
The customer went into the restaurant to find a manager and complain about the dispute the affidavit says. Instead, she allegedly encountered Johnson.
"The defendant told the customer to 'go and die, fat b—,' then produced a knife from his right pants pocket and wielded it in front of her, in a circular motion," the affidavit says.
The woman told police she was frightened by the display and immediately backed away before calling authorities. Johnson allegedly offered up a different version of what happened.
According to the affidavit, Johnson admitted to pulling out the knife but claimed he did it because the woman was filming him with her cellphone. Johnson allegedly told police he "wielded the knife, without saying anything more to her."
The customer told police she did not start recording Johnson until after he had allegedly pulled the knife, according to the affidavit. The confrontation ended without the woman being physically harmed.
Police arrested Johnson and charged him last week. His next court appearance is scheduled for Nov. 20.
