Another Arrest in Suspected Murder of Long-Missing School Teacher

It was looking like there’d never be an answer to the disappearance of school teacher Tara Grinstead. She went missing from her home in Ocilla, Georgia way back in October 22, 2005. Foul play was immediately suspected, but searches turned up almost nothing, and the case went cold for over a decade. Now two men have been charged in connection to her suspected murder. We’ve previously wrote about how Ryan Alexander Duke was arrested for killing her. Now a high school schoolmate of his has been charged with helping him hide the body.

Bo Dukes has been cuffed in connection to her disappearance, says sheriff’s deputies in Ben Hill County, Georgia. He was released on bond Friday, and faces counts of concealing death, hiding apprehension or punishment of a criminal, and tampering with evidence, according to 11 Alive. His attorney declined comment to WSB-TV, as seen in the above video.

Ryan Alexander Duke was arrested Feb. 22 for actually murdering her, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said.

“Recently, the GBI received a tip that led agents to conduct several interviews of subjects that had not been previously interviewed,” reads their statement. “The information gained from these interviews led agents to develop enough probable cause to secure an arrest warrant for Duke, charging him with the murder of Tara Grinstead.”

Dukes and Duke are reportedly unrelated, but went to Irwin County High School, where Grinstead taught. Even appeared next to each in the yearbook because of their similar last names. Duke, now 33, graduated three years before the teacher’s disappearance.

Don’t expect much on-the-record discussion about this case. A judge issued a gag order Tuesday on law enforcement investigating Ryan Duke.

Investigators have not announced if they discovered Grinstead’s body.
