Cops in Georgia are searching for a hit-and-run driver who allegedly shot a man dead in a road rage incident along a Peach State highway.
According to DeKalb County Police, the shooting occurred around 10:30 p.m. Thursday on westbound I-285 at Buford Highway. Cops found 26-year-old Tyler Sieber with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
Investigators say another car had struck Sieber's dad's car.
"He flew back over and hit the back end of my car and sent me into 285, spinning across traffic," Anton Sieber told local ABC affiliate WSB.
Sieber, who was following his dad in another car, followed the hit-and-run driver and rear-ended it, cops said.
"From what I understand, he caught up with them at the next off-ramp and started taking photos, and they shot him," Anton Sieber said in an interview with local NBC affiliate WXIA.
The suspect swiped Tyler Sieber's phone and drove away after shooting the victim, cops said. The victim's family said all they found was the phone case.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Sieber's loved ones want justice.
"Someone that has to do something like that, it just shows how little they are and that they can't handle things with words," his mother Christa Sieber told WSB. "An arrest is not going to bring our son back, but it'll give us a little more peace."
The family described Tyler Sieber as a kindhearted individual, who was always helping others, which is what he was doing when he died.
"Our family is devastated beyond words," his mother wrote in a GoFundMe description.
