A 44-year-old Georgia man fatally shot a man he claimed was having an affair with his wife outside a restaurant, sending patrons scrambling and injuring two, cops say.

Daniel Roman-Cortez is charged with murder and six counts of aggravated assault with a weapon in the death of 44-year-old Pablo Gutierrez-Gallegos, jail records show.

Police in Doraville, which sits just outside Atlanta, said in a press release obtained by Law&Crime that officers responded shortly after midnight Sunday to a restaurant in the 5700 block of Buford Highway.

Cops arriving on scene spotted Roman-Cortez trying to drive away in a blue pickup truck. They pulled him over and took him into custody.

"I shot him," he reportedly said, according to police. "I killed him."

Roman-Cortez later told investigators that he believed the victim was "sleeping with his wife." The suspect allegedly opened fire in the parking lot of the restaurant. Cops found Gutierrez-Gallegos unresponsive with gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him dead.

Pieces of glass injured two customers inside the restaurant. Both were treated and released.

"Our department is committed to conducting a thorough investigation and pursuing justice for the victim and his family," Doraville Police Chief Deyette said in a statement.

The suspect is in the DeKalb County Jail without bond. His next court date is not listed.

Gutierrez-Gallegos was originally from Mexico, his sister wrote in a GoFundMe.

"We are profoundly devastated and broken-hearted," she wrote. "Pablo was an incredibly friendly person, a man who minded his own business and did not deserve to leave this world this way. His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives."
