A Wisconsin woman who worked at a senior care facility as a caregiver is headed to prison for shoving a 76-year-old resident so hard she broke her femur — an injury that later led to her death due to a "complication," according to local officials.
Abrianna Clark, 28, was found guilty of second-degree reckless homicide and physical abuse of an elder following a trial in Ozaukee County, according to court records reviewed by Law&Crime on Monday. She was sentenced to 10 years in prison and 10 years of extended supervision.
Clark's criminal complaint, obtained by local Fox affiliate WITI, outlined a series of events that unfolded at the facility where she worked — Story Point Senior Living in Mequon — surrounding the victim's 2022 assault, including how Clark told her co-workers, "If anybody snitch on me, I'm going to get on that," according to prosecutors.
"[The victim] appeared to be fearful of Clark," the complaint said.
Mequon police were dispatched to Story Point on Nov. 14, 2024, for a report of "physical abuse to an elderly person in the memory care unit," the complaint explained.
Officers learned upon their arrival that the victim was allegedly pushed by Clark, and that the woman was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken femur. The facility director told cops that Clark "had pushed (the victim) to the ground" and even admitted to it afterward, saying it happened after the victim "hit her with a ruler, and broke her glasses," per the complaint.
"I pushed her," Clark stated about five times, according to a staff member who also spoke with authorities.
When questioned by police, Clark changed her tune and insisted she "did not push her," according to the complaint. She said the woman was found on the bathroom floor after falling on her own.
Court records show that Clark was initially charged with "physical abuse of elder person — recklessly cause great bodily harm" for the alleged incident.
Authorities were notified on Jan. 27, 2025, that the victim had died at Story Point and her cause of death was identified as "complication of left hip fracture" by the Ozaukee County Medical Examiner. Prosecutors dismissed the elder abuse case on May 22, 2025, after filing homicide charges two days earlier, according to court records.
Clark is scheduled to appear in court for a restitution hearing on Sept. 8, 2026.
