About this position

Law&Crime is seeking a Digital Producer & Video Editor to create content for the Court TV brand. The ideal candidate is a YouTube-first storyteller who understands how to translate Court TV content into the gripping, high-retention shows. The Digital Producer & Video Editor must be comfortable taking the lead on a high-priority flagship show, maintaining a sharp eye for legal nuance and pacing, while simultaneously driving the creative direction of auxiliary content. We are looking for a storyteller who thrives under tight deadlines and can transform raw courtroom footage into a compelling, polished narrative that resonates with a dedicated audience while collaborating with the wider Social Media Team.

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of professional work experience on YouTube or in video production
  • Strict adherence to tight deadlines
  • Experience producing video content, especially engaging content, for YouTube and other social media platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and Snapchat
  • Proficient knowledge of the court system, civil and criminal trials, police and law enforcement activity, and legal jargon
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills
  • Familiarity with the Adobe suite, specifically Photoshop and Premiere, or Canva,
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Edit long-form show hosted and written by Court TV host, providing AP support when necessary
  • Identify, ideate, and produce new video concepts using both new assets and back-catalogue assets
  • Create and fulfill an evergreen content publishing calendar
  • Craft titles, descriptions, and thumbnails for produced videos
  • Produce long-form clips, shorts, and compilation videos
  • Fact-check work to ensure all content adheres to legal guidelines
  • Fill in for other editors on other shows from time to time
  • Stay up-to-date on digital advertising trends, attend industry conferences, and continue to grow Law&Crime’s large network of clients
  • Partner with leadership to implement content strategy
  • Contribute to cross-platform content operations during investigations, trials, and breaking news
