The ideal Social Trials Manager lives and breathes the courtroom. This is not just a management role, this is for someone who knows the difference between a routine testimony and a viral trial moment within seconds of it happening. The ideal candidate is obsessed with trials, understands the anatomy of high-stakes courtroom storytelling, and knows how to turn real legal proceedings into compelling, must-click content for YouTube and Social audiences. This role will oversee a team of Social Trial Producers, guiding editorial decisions, elevating storytelling, and ensuring every piece of content is sharp, engaging, and built to perform. The Social Trials Manager will work closely with the Head of YouTube & Social Media Operations.

Who we're looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep passion for trials, courtroom proceedings, and true crime storytelling.
  • Strong understanding of what makes a trial moment go viral, from testimony to cross-examination to verdicts.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital media, social video production, or newsroom environments.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and make fast editorial decisions under pressure.
  • Strong instincts for YouTube packaging (titles, thumbnails, pacing, and audience retention).
  • Great skills with Adobe platforms, specifically Photoshop and Premiere.
  • Confidence to have a voice in a room full of strong opinions and guide conversations productively.
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality or judgment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience with trial coverage, legal content, or breaking news strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work and edit simple videos remotely, with a solid internet connection.

Your responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the day-to-day editorial direction of trial coverage across all social platforms, with a primary focus on the Law&Crime and Court TV YouTube brands.
  • Monitor live trials and identify high-impact, viral-ready moments in real time.
  • Guide producers on best practices of our branded courtroom coverage strategies.
  • Elevate content through editorial oversight and review to enhance titles, thumbnails, framing, and narratives to maximize performance.
  • Provide real-time feedback and direction during live trial coverage and breaking moments, with the ability to work flexible hours to cover high-profile cases.
  • Ensure all content maintains a balance of accuracy, urgency, and compelling storytelling.
  • Collaborate with leadership on content strategy, growth initiatives, and platform performance.
  • Mentor and manage Social Trial Producers, helping them sharpen their editorial instincts and production skills.
  • Write, edit, and package social content quickly under tight deadlines.
  • Maintain awareness of YouTube trends, audience behavior, and competitor content to stay ahead of the curve.
